With such a kit itis possible to build casting moulds that may be used for moulding construction inoclels, such as houses.Description of Rcšated Art Today there are many hobbyists that build model houses and otherconstructions niodeis, for example in coniuiiction with arranging landscapes for modelrailroading. The houses may be available as prefabricateci model kits, which are easy toasseinble. The drawback with such prefabiricated models is that the liobbyist has noiiifhsence on the design of the models. Thus, it is not possible for the hobbyist to tailorthe construction models to the landscape. 'There have been made attempts to solve theproblem with predeterinined designs.
One such example is described in US. Patent no. 5,002,5l 3. which discloses aiiiodel building kit deployiiig interchazigeablc wall panels to create a variety of buildingdesigns. The wall panešs are further made up of submnšts which make it possibše for auser to build individual wall panels. The wall panels interconnect with one another andare verticaliy supported by columns. Even if this solution gives a user a wide variety ofdesign options, the kit cornprises a lot ofindividiiai parts which inake it coinplicatedand/or expensive to manttfactttre such a kit.
Another example is GB Patent no. 546,860, which discloses a Casting mouldfor nnouidiiig toy construction. eleinents, which may be assembled to form rnodels. inthe casting inouid there may be provided cores of different shapes, mandreis orpartitions in order to produce constructional elements of different shapes. 'fhis readersthe construction very complex and it will also be time consumiiig to set up the castiiigmould for a desired design..
US. Patent no. 4,253,637 discloses a Casting mould for toy structural elements.Clamping raíls are arranged on a base plate spaced apart but parallel to each other andsecured to the base plate in an adjustable manner. Between the clamping rails there maybe located end and rnouldirig pieces. 'There are a variety of different nioulditig pieces in order to design different structural elements. ln GB Patent no. 546860 there is disclosed a Casting mould for production oftoy or model buildings. The rnould consists of inoveable parts that may be rninned on abase plate. Also this Casting mould is fairly complex and requires a lot of individualpieces for different designs.
Finally, FR Patent no 2416102 describes a casting mould for creating iiiodelbuildings. Also this Casting nioulcl is coinplex and requires a lot of individual parts inorder to get a variety of designs. "fhus, there have been made many attenipts, cluring an extended period of time,to acconiplisli an easy and simple Casting mould for forming construction models, suchas different buildings. However, as the examples above sliow they are still complex andrequire many different parts in order to be able to mould or assemble different andpersonalized Construction models.

Detailed description of the invention Figures 1 to 5 show the basic pieces that constitute the flexible Casting mouldkit according to the present invention. In its simplest form the kit comprises a baseplate, four wall pieces and four roof pieces. The base piate 2 is shown in figure la. ltmay have any shape, but a rectangular or square plate is preferred. The base plate 2serves as a foundation when assembliiig the casting mouid according to the presentinvention. Thus the shape is not important, but it wiil be easier to mantifacture a squareor rectangulai' base plate 2 then any other shape. As is evident from iigure ia the baseplate 2 is provided with a grid of ciowels 4, one of which is closer depicted in figure lb.Figure th shows a dowei 4 having a cross like cross section provided within a basiccircuiai' shape. It may aiso be square or cšrcular in cross section, but the cross like shapehas some advantages, which will be described below. The distance between the doweis4 is the same for all dowels. This is an important feature, since this will make theCasting mouid kit very flexible. in figure la the base plate 2 is also provided with roof eveners 6, to be described further heiow. figures 2a-d all show einbodirnents of the wall pieces 8 coinprised in the flexible castiiig mould kit. lfigure 2a is a front view and iigure Zb and Zd are perspectiveviews of the wall piece 8. As inentiriiied above the kit coinprises at least four walipieces 8. As for the base plate 2, also the wali pieces 8 are provided with dowels 4.These doweis 4 have the sanie shape and the same distance between them as the baseplate 2 and are provided on the upper rim 10 of the wall piece. ffhe lower rim 12 of thewali piece 8 is provided with recesses 14, the shape of which are adapted to receive thedovvels 4. 'fhus, the distance between the rccesses 14 is the same as between the doweis4. "fire wali piece further coinprises a Casting side 16, vvhicli is the side of the wall piece8 that is turned ton/artis the inside of the flexible casting mould, will be in contactwith the casting material used for mouldiiig the construction rnodels. 'fhe casting side16 inay be embossed, such that it gives the :final construction model a pleasant andrealistic look. if the construction modei, for example, is a liouse the embossineiit of thecasting side 16, may look like a brick 'vvall or a wooden front. in a preferredernboclinieiit of the present invention the wail piece 8 cornprises two castirig sides 16,such that one side for example may be embossed as brick wail and the other side as awooden front. 'This will inake the castiiig mould kit even more tlexible and usable. in another embodiineiit of the present iiiventioii may the casting side 16 or one of the casting sides be hollow and this side may be filied with clay or simiiar material. "f hiseinbodinient will give the user the possibility to create his own embossmeiit and tailorthe appearance of the construction model as he wishes. Such a hoilow wall piece is shown in figure 2d. in yet another einbodiinent of the present invention the Casting side l6 mayalso be provided with recesses 18, as is shown in figure 2b. In these recesses l8 the userinay push adornments 28, as is shown in figure 2c, to decorate the construction model.if the construction inodel is a btiildiiigt the adoriiinents may be windows 28 or doors. 'iïirning now to figures 3-5, the roof pieces 22 will be described. The roof pieceis generally rod Shaped with a substantiailyf trianguiar cross section. A first einbodimentof the roof piece 22 is shown in figure 3a and 3d. As is evident from figure 3a, aiso theroof piece is provided 'with dowels 4 and recesses 14, corresponding to and liaviiig thesame distance therein between as the wall piece 8. "fhe iiicliiiatioii of the roof side 24,i.e. the side of the roof piece that is turned tovifards the inside of the castiiig inould whenit is assembled may vary, but is the same for alš four roof pieees included in the basickit. One of the short ends 26 of the roof piece has the opposite inciiiiatioii as the roofside 24. 'fhis will be expiaiiied closer in conjunction with figures 640, which show the assemblirig of the castiiig mould according to the present inventiori.
As for the wali pieces 8, aiso the roof side 24 of the roof pieces may beernbosseci to, .for exampie, create a tile clesign. lt may also be possible to have a roofside 24 that is hollow as is shown in figure 3b. This wili, as incntioiied above, give auser the opportunity to make his own design. ifigures 3c and 3e show another einbodirneiit of the cross section of the roofpiece 22. As is evident in the figures, the lower part of the roof side 24 is chainferecl. The amount of chamferiiig corresponds to the height of the roof eveners 6 clescfsibect above in conjunction with figure la and which wili be described further below: F urtlierinore, the side opposite the roof side 24 is a verticaš wall 32, as shownin figures Ed and fåe. ln a preferred enibodiinent of the present inventioii this side mayalso be Lised as a wall side, possible with einhossrneiits or being hollow as has beendescribed aibove.
Also figures 4-5 show roof pieces 22 that correspond to the roof piece depictedin 'figure 3. The common features wiil therefore not be described again, 'The differencebetween the embodirnents compared with the embodirnent in figure 3 is that the roofside 24 is a littie concave in figure 4 and a little convex in figure 5. Thus, aiso the shortends 26 of the roof pieces are shaped differently, such that the short ends 26 match with the eoncaxfe and convex roof side 24, respectively.
In order to better understand the present invention, several examples will nowhe given how the Casting mould may be assembled in order to create constructionrnodels of different shapes, but using the same basic parts. Thus, figure 6 shows how thecasting mould is assembled step by step in order to create a house. First the four roofpieces 22 are assernbled on the basic plate 2. When all four pieces are in place, the roofpart of the easting monld is finished. 'fhereafter the wall pieces 8 are put on top of theroof pieces hy matching the recesses of the wall pieces with the dowels of the roofpieces. Thus, in figure 611 the final castirtg mouid is shown. Then the hollow spacecreated by the assemhled casting rnould may be filled with some hardening materialsuch as cement, lime, gypstirn or the like. When the hardening material has hardened thecastirig mould may he disassembled and the finished product is shown in figure 6i. lf one looks at the 'finished product, shown in figure 6i, it should be noted thatthe ““rool'““at the short side of the house is vertical. 'Titus when assemblin g the Castingmould for this specific liouse, two of the roof pieces have had their inclined side as casting sides and two of the roof pieces have had their vertical sides as casting sides.
Further examples of how the Casting inould is assembled are shown in figures 8to lO together with the finished product. As for the example, shown in figure 8, itshould be noted that all four roof pieces are used with their inelined side as casting side, giving the finished productr in figure Sd, a different appearance than the product shownin figure 6i. Thus, even if the saine pieces are used to assembie the casting rnould, theresult will be different. ln figure Se it should further be noted that the casting mould isiocked with help of securing pieces 36. By enhancing tiie ritouldirig kit with securingpieces 36, slits that may arise between the wall pieces may be eiirninated. A detailedview of the securing piece is shown in figures 7a and 7b.
As for the examples shown in figure 9 and 10, it Wiil be desirabie to use theroof eveners 6 described above in order to get an even top of the roof, Without the roofeveners 6, the dowels 4 of the base plate would make inipressions on the final product. Thus, by adding roof eveners to the flexible Casting inouid kit, the kit will be even inoreuseful and it will be possible to vary the end product even more. By using the flexiblecasting inould kit according to the present invention it is possible to create a variety ofconstruction models, with only a very few pieces. The Casting inould is very easy toasseinble and to disassernble and the shape of the ciowels and recesses will secure thatthere will be no siippage between the pieces in the kit.
It shall be understood that even if the invention has been described withreference to preferred ernbodiments the invention is not limited thereto. There are niaiiyother enibodiinents and Variations that are šikewise within the scope of the invention, which is best defined by the accompaiiyíng claims,
